How to remove edit-links on website

Hi there!

You can hide those links from view using the following custom CSS:

.edit-link {
    display: none;
}

Add the above to your child theme’s style.css file. ??

It works fine. Both links are not displayed anymore. And I thought I had to change something somewhere in the php code…

Can you tell me where in the CSS to put the code?

Create a child theme (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Child_Themes) and put it in the child theme’s style.css file.

Thanks for your reply. For this particular exercise, I was not able to make a child theme, so wondering if there is a particular place in the theme css I should/could put it?

Hi @shannong01,

You shouldn’t edit your theme’s files directly as any changes you make will be lost when it comes time to update.

If you’re not able to set up a child theme then you could instead activate a custom CSS plugin.

If you have Jetpack installed, you can navigate to Jetpack > Settings to enable its custom CSS module and then add the CSS via Appearance > Edit CSS.
