    Hello!

Been using Site Kit for a month now and it’s helped me a lot with setting up Google Analytics, Adsense, etc. Kudos!

I tested out every product I could connect to the service, including Tag Manager. However, I found that I don’t need it at this time and since then deactivated it first.

Every time I run a speed test on Pagespeed Insights or GTMetrix it tells me I have leftover code from Tag Manager which I can’t seem to locate. Site Kit added it for me automatically, and I thought deactivating GTM would remove it.

Any advice on how to remove the GTM codes and scripts left on my site?

    Thanks!

@lovefoti Firstly many thanks for the comments, glad to hear Site Kit helped you setup the various Google products.

From checking your sites source code I noticed some other Tag Manager references that may indicate other plugins inserting Tag Manager code, including references to optimole and addtoany. These plugins may utilize Google Tag Manager for various functionality. In addition the Analytics module within Site Kit uses a Google Tag Manager placement, following best practice.

Try temporarily deactivating all Tag Manager plugins including Site Kit and performing a PageSpeed Insights test once more, while then re-activating those plugins one by one and testing again. This will help you to determine any possible leftover snippets.

Let us know how you get on after checking.

@lovefoti As we didn’t receive a response I will mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues.

If you have a moment free please also consider leaving the plugin a review, which can be useful as we develop the plugin further.
