Hi, when I google name of my website “cyklokopce”, google shows in results this text:

    “Domov – Cyklistika a kopce = cyklokopce”

the problem is the first word (in english it would be like “Home – Cycling and climbs = Cycleclimbs”). I would like to remove the word “Home”, it is unimportant and obstructing. When I click on “Site title” in wordpress menu, under “appearence”, the title is set only “Cyklistika a kopce = cyklokopce”, without “Home”. Please, any advice how can I remove it? Thank you for help. Daniel

  • Hello there,

Have you tried enabling Front Page template? Doesn’t it work for you?

    Hi,

I have set my front page template to “front page”, but no change. Word “Home” still appears in google search and in the tab in my Chrome.

    Hello Daniel,

Probably your old content of your page still cached by Google search. You could manually remove it by doing the steps as outlined here: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/6349986?hl=en.

I had the same issue. I am using Yoast SEO plugin, so at page where I edit homepage (WordPress default) I looked for Yoast settings and edited SEO title. Now browser tab displays what I want and should be displayed in search result as well.
