The current version of WooCommerce seems to have introduced a new admin menu option “Payments” that is currently showing-up on my admin panel with a red (1) notification icon. How do I remove this menu option (and notification)? I don’t use WooPayments or have it installed.

    Hi @hastibe ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that the Payments menu option is being displayed, although you do not have the WooPayments plugin installed and activated, is this correct?

This is not something I am able to replicate on my test site, which uses the latest version of WooCommerce core, as the Payments menu option is removed once deactivating the WooPayments plugin:

    Before deactivating WooPayments:

    After deactivating WooPayments:

Additionally, I am unable to see this as an added feature to WooCommerce Core within the changelog for 7.9.0

Have you previously had WooPayments installed and activated? If so, its possible that this could be a caching issue and I’d suggest navigating to?WooCommerce → Status → Tools, and doing the following:

    • WooCommerce transients – Clear
    • Expired transients – Clear

Next, please clear your browser cache and see if this resolves the issue.

On the other hand, if you have never had WooPayments installed and active on your site, it’s possible that this may be coming from another plugin and I’d suggest performing a full conflict test.

You can do this by following the support guide below:

    Hi @markwordpress1 ,

If the suggestions above do not make any difference on your end, since each site setup differs, and in order to align with forum best practices, please can you start your own topic so that we can address your issue(s) separately.

    Cheers!

    Hi @hastibe ,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if you need any further help with this.

    Cheers!

I had the same issue, and able to remove it.
    Click on Payment
You’ll see the woo payments information with the offer/button to install woopayments for free. Beside that button you’ll see a Link “No, thanks” Click on it > and click on the red button or fill out the questions.
Thats it and the Menu disappears.

Yes, @oyondo’s answer also worked on my site.

@beautyofcode and @bisratlearn — I’ve never had the WooPayments plugin installed. WooCommerce already includes a big ad for WooPayments on the Payments settings page for WooCommerce — why is this additional bloat being added now with the only way to dismiss it being to click “No thanks” on a deal for six months of 50% off payment processing costs if you use WooPayments? This is confusing, unprofessional, and an embarrassing look for WooCommerce, wastes all of our time, and has distinctly not been a “feature” that has been asked for and is not appreciated.

We understand your concerns and apologize for any inconvenience caused. The WooPayments Menu is a new update from WooCommerce core. It was never our intention to interrupt the user experience, nor to be unprofessional or appear as excess bloat. We truly value your opinion.
