How to remove paragraph within “the_content”

I’m running WP 1.2.2 and am trying to completely rehack it to fit a website template layout. I want to place the post content and it’s title in a dedicated list <dl> and style it using CSS. Only problem though seems to be WP adding a paragraph to “the content” caller within the loop. I’ve tried to search for the exact file where I can remove the paragraph, but haven’t found it so far. Does anyone know in what file the added paragraph to the “the_content” caller can be found?
