How to remove post views number from excerpt

How did the number appear there?

I think it just appeared there when I switched from “Recent Posts Widget Extended” to your “Recent Posts Widget With Thumbnails”.

The 33 goes away when i switch back to “Recent Posts Widget Extended”. But I want a thumbnail and I like your plugin.

That is strange. I could not reconstruct that on my servers. Would you please write a second post for testing purposes to see which number would appear?

I made another post for testing, this time it added 00 before and after the excerpt.

I finally figured it out…
The problem was, I had social media icons at the top of the post (Social Share Buttons by Supsystic), these for some reason showed up as 33’s and 00’s. I just moved them to the bottom of my post and this fixed it.

By any chance is there a way to have your plugin ignore things like that? ignore it and just display test in the excerpt?

Great you found the reason! Unfortunately the plugin – and others plugins – can not remove things other plugins added correctly in a technical manner. How to detect them? So you did the right thing: to circumvent the undesired effect.
