How to remove RELATED POSTS

    I am using Vantage child theme.
    I wanted to remove Related Posts from my site. Initially, I thought I could do it by turning off Related Posts in Jetpack. I did that, yet the Related Posts wouldn’t go away. Then I realized that Related Posts is part of my Vantage theme.
    There is a code for Related Posts in the parent theme’s single.php. It is in lines 27, 28, and 29.
    I am new to PHP. If I should remove these PHP codes and then turn of related posts in Jetpack, will the related post go away? I would appreciate your response. Thank you.
