How to remove site title and shift header up

Using the Raindrops theme with responsive:
I would like to remove the site title from being displayed above my header image. I would also like shift my header image up, if possible.

I found a post with with the same request but it was two years old and the instructions for changing the header.php template no longer apply as the template has changed substantially.
