How to remove something

One of our folks mistakenly did “something” (and they’re not sure what), but the end result is that there is now a search field up in the menu bar!

I’ve looked thru everything and for the life of me cannot see where or how to remove the search field from the menu. I’ve checked widgets, menu, plugins, even templates — nothing in there that would cause this. Any ideas what to do or check?
