We only want to use Facebook commenting, not WordPress commenting, so how can we get rid of the extra tab for WordPress comments? We are not using social login.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Thanks – I knew I saw that somewhere, but couldn’t find it again. Also, is there a way to hide the parentheses surrounding the comment count on the tab? I managed to hide the number, but the parentheses are still there.

Facebook comment count is supposed to appear in the parentheses. Try disabling the Include Javascript in website footer option at Super Socializer > General Options page in admin area.

I tried this, but it did not work. The parentheses are still there.

Try disabling other plugins one-by-one to check if any of these is causing the Facebook Comment count to not appear.

I know what is causing the comment count not to appear – it is the custom css I added to hide it, as I mentioned above. My question is how can I also hide the parentheses.

Your question was how to hide the tab for default comments. And you would be using the CSS for the same. That CSS would not hide Facebook Comments count.

That was my first question, and is resolved. My additional question is how to hide the comment count parentheses. Please see my second post above, where I said “is there a way to hide the parentheses surrounding the comment count on the tab? I managed to hide the number, but the parentheses are still there.” If you want to move the new question to a separate thread that is fine with me. I am just interested in getting an answer to it.

Sorry, you cannot hide just the parenthesis.

    Why not?

Because the whole text Share comment to Facebook () is inside a single li HTML element. You can apply CSS to this element to hide the whole text. To hide the parenthesis, it needs to be inside another nested HTML element, which is not the case.

Shouldn’t it be possible to just rewrite the li class minus the parentheses?

You need to wait for next release for this. Which is not going to be immediate.
We would recommend to keep showing the Facebook Comments count till then.
