• Hi all. After cloning a development site to our main url, every time we try to edit any posts or pages, we get the page not found. After troubleshooting and comparing the new site and the development site, I figured out that every “edit” url has the &classic-editor at the end of the url on the new site but not in the development site. I am using the Classic Editor plugin, WP Bakery, and have the “Disable the Gutenberg Editor” checked – in both versions. I tried updating the permalinks but this doesn’t remove the &classic-editor at the end. Instead, updating the permalinks pretty much makes my site go from lightening speed to wanting to throw the computer out the window slow and maxes out my hosting resources (confirmed by viewing my resources in Godaddy’s CPanel).

Please don’t suggest not using WPBakery, not using Godaddy, etc. That isn’t an option any time soon. Any idea on how to get rid of the &classic-editor at the end of every url on the new site?

    Thanks!!!

  • This is a conflict of some sort.

Please don’t suggest not using WPBakery, not using Godaddy, etc.

In that case, temporarily disable ALL plugins, and switch your theme to the latest default theme.

Then test to see if the problem persists.

If the problem goes away, start enabling the addons, but one after the other, testing each time, until the problem resurfaces. Then you’ll know what’s causing this and where to seek help from.

You may use the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin for this: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/

    Good luck!
