how to remove the sidebar from single page?

Hi i’m very new and have been searching the forums and codex and stuff but i’m not to sure the best search term to get the results… what i want to do is i’m installing the forum plugin to a new page, however once all installed it still has the sidebar on the side of the forum page, is there a way to remove the sidebar and have the forum strech right across the page??
