How to remove the word "archive" from category archive title

    Hi

    Currently if we go to a category archive in WP the title shows “<Category name> archive”.

    Is there a way to remove the word “archive” from that title so that it just shows the category name? Ideally just for one category if possible.

    I’ve looked in the Archive template of our theme and also the header. The Header outputs the title but doesn’t show the word “archive” so I can’t easily remove it there.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Olly,

    It will depends on the theme you are using, in twentytwelve you can edit it category.php

    You can search for the string in entire folder using editor like Notepad++
