I used to have the website field removed from the contact form via simple code that you can find everywhere when it comes to removing the field. However, after switching to the Jetpack comments feature, the field is back (“Website”). How do you hide the field again as it only promotes spam? Legit users almost always skip this field. So if a comment does come in with a site listed in it, it’s typically spam. I’d like to remove it…

    Hi there,

Jetpack doesn’t have a built-in option to remove that.

As the Jetpack comments form run in an iframe, it’s not possible to use CSS to hide only that one form field, so you’ll likely need to modify the plugin using custom PHP code via a functionality plugin. We’re not able to help you with the code you’d need for that, though.

Understood, thank you. It’s unfortunate since as soon as that field showed back up with the switch (it was hidden before with a plugin), the number of people trying to spam the comments increased (or they enter some obscene value into it). So either I will have to find a way to do this or give up and switch back and use the social login plugin. Thanks.
