how to remove widgets from left and right sidebars?

    hello,

    can anyone tell me how to remove the widgets i dont want to use in cognoblue?

    in wp admin area i have gone to appearance>widgets and both right_sidebar and left_sidebar show the widgets i want to show, but on the front end lots of other widgets are showing (search, popular posts, blog roll etc).

    how can i make these not show?

    any help appreciated!

    ah i see, they are hardcoded into template – in sidebar_l.php and sidebar_r.php.

    just need to <!–comment them out–>
