• Hi

    I’m in the process of wanting to set up a website for my business however I can’t seem to get my site to go my address but only to domain.co.uk/wordpress. I’m hosting from godaddy using there windows plesk file manger and the os i’m using is windows 7, This is the first time I’ve ever tried building a site so I’m totally new to this. I’ve looked all over for articles to try and fix this but nothing seems to work. The steps I’ve tried include;
    * installing wordpress in the root directory
    * moving index.php into the root and editing it
    * Moving wp-config into root and editing it
    * Changing the wordpress site and site url settings in the wordpress general tab
    * reinstalling wordpress and resetting my hosting account
    * I can’t access htaccess, not even with filezilla so not sure it exists

    I emailed Godaddy and they suggest I use Linux instead because of permission problems that are known with windows plesk.

    Does anyone have any advice for what I should be doing please ?

    Thanks

  • It is very strange that that you can’t access your website even after installing on root.

    Is it possible for you to place a plain file at root and access that from there to make sure what you are putting in your root is accessible via your domain?
