But not very easy to understand the meaning of ‘Update the addressline after an ajax action or next slide.’

That makes it possible to refresh the page and end up with the correct photo in the slideshow in stead of the bare page before all ajax actions had been taken. If you enable ajax on Table IV-A1 and look at a generic albums display and have the links default, click View … photos, after that click a thumbnail and get the clicked photo in the slideshow.
If you now press ( CTRL+ ) F5 the page will be refreshed showing the same photo in the slideshow.
When the addressline is not updated, you will get the generic albums display back. I assume one does not want that.

    Hi
I’d also got the same issue. In the end, I unticked Table IV-A 7 and it stopped appending miscellaneous items to the URL.
My understanding is that by unticking it, I’m going to always have the same image when someone returns to the page, rather than return to where they were in the album. Is that correct?
In my case, I’m not too worried, as all my albums only have 2 images in (before/after) editing.
However, I could see that there may come a time when I want to have more items. Is it possible to override it for individual albums.

Incidentally, I didn’t disable A1 … that was already disabled. Should it have been?

    miscellaneous items to the URL.

These so called query string arguments tell the server which slide to show initially.
If you remove those arguments, you get the first.

If you enable ajax, the page is updated whenever possible in stead of reloaded. This is for a better user experience. Under some circumstances on certain systems you may experience unwanted behaviour. In that case switch it off. ‘On’ is recommended.
