I’m getting quite sick of seeing this notification appear sometimes at the top of my dashboard. I know I’ve installed squelch, I’ve used it on about 20% of the pages of my site. I don’t need the reminder.

Hi m1rado, the message disappears automatically. It’s removed after you’ve loaded 3 or 4 pages on the dashboard. At the time that message was originally coded up WordPress didn’t have a mechanism for removing messages built into core, so to keep it simple the message was set to disappear automatically after a few clicks. We can look at reengineering the message now as WordPress now has a framework for making messages that can be closed. I’ve added this as a feature request for the next version.

Hmm. I’ve used this plugin for months and it still pops up all the time.

It should only pop up after an update. The next version of the plugin is going to be changing when this displays to make it rare that you see it.
