    Hello,

I’m trying your plugin and I’m not able to rename a file and all different sizes.

If I use the famous “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin (installed on more than 1 millions wordpress sites) to rename all images sizes, it revert back to original name.

Is it possible to rename files definitively AND all different sizes in one click ?

Secondly, if my image title contains special characters like accent, underscore, etc…, your plugin DO NOT WORK and do not rename them without displaying any error message ?

    Thank you for your help

    Hi,

Regenerate Thumbnails and Media File Renamer are both using WordPress API very naturally, so there should be no problem.

Renaming files in one click is done by the bulk rename, but before doing this, it’s important to test a few files to see if everything is renamed correctly, as well as the references; this depends strongly on how your install is set up, which plugins are you using and all that.

The plugin should also work fine with accents, underscores and all that.

But of course, like I mentioned before, it depends on your install. Also, sometimes, if you move your website one hosting service to another, the filesystem encoding might be different and the references in the database might not be a match (even though the images appear when browsing the website). That issue is not related to Media File Renamer.

Usually, running Regenerate Thumbnails would fix all that by re-creating the images which correspond exactly to the references in the database, but I would recommend deleting all your thumbnails first. Are you using Windows/IIS? Windows servers often have this kind of issues with PHP.
