how to renew the posts?

The point of the importer is to move from Tumblr to WordPress. It’s not designed to mirror a site on a continuing basis. There is no way to make it do this. I am not aware of any plugins to do this type of thing.

The sync feature is something I miss as well

This importer plugin has never had a sync feature. It’s not designed to “sync” anything. It’s a one-time import script.

If you need something with a sync feature, use a different plugin.

It was merely s suggestion perhaps for future release?
For the moment there are no plugins offering the syncing.

This is an importer plugin. It will never offer any form of this type of functionality.
