How to repair connection to database

  • I’m not sure what happened to a site I help a friend with during the week but it came up with a Database error (could not connect) and so I attempted to repair it following the standard WP protocol.

    I ended up with the following tables unable to be repaired due to these reasons:
    POSTS – 1 client is using or hasn’t closed the table properly
    OPTIONS – Table is marked as crashed
    POSTMETA – 1 client is using or hasn’t closed the table properly
    TERM_RELATIONSHIPS – 1 client is using or hasn’t closed the table properly

    Can anyone assist me with what I should do next to fix these? Is there something I can do in phpMyAdmin to repair these tables?
