How to replace pre-installed home page

  • I am completely new to WordPress and I downloaded the latest Tempera theme for my website template.

    The problem I have is how do I get rid of some of these images that you can see in the upcoming screenshots:

    I don’t want those boxes on my home page, but if I have to have them, then I want to be able to edit the content of those boxes, including the text.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. It’s the last thing that I want to get sorted before making my new website/blog official.
