• Hello,

i’m using the theme Fictive to build my own community page and I must admit it realy suits my needs. I like this theme a lot. Thanks! ??

However, i’d like to make some changes. I’ve created couple of custom pages using a plugin. These pages are: login, logout, my account and members.
The links are working just fine however, the icons are not the “right” ones. When I set these pages to appear as “social links” (Menu settings -> Theme locations), the theme shows a f415 icon which, to be honest, I don’t want to use. As a result I now see four f415 icons that are linking to four different pages. I was thinking…

    1. Is there a way to change these built-in icons with my own icons?
    2. Since this theme is using Genericons, would it be possible to use other icons from Genericons family (f.e.: f427 as login, f412 as logout, f445 as my account and f304 as members)? This would probably be the easiest way – if yes, how can I do/set this?

    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    denis

    Glad you’re liking Fictive!

You can see all the available Genericons included in Fictive in /genericons/genericons.css.

You can add CSS for additional social-link menu Genericons following the examples in style.css starting on line 2546.

Don’t edit the theme files directly, otherwise your changes will be overwritten every time the theme is updated to the latest version.

An easy way to add custom CSS is to install the Jetpack plugin and activate the Custom CSS module. You’ll then add your custom CSS in the new stylesheet editor that’ll appear in your dashboard, under Appearance > Edit CSS.

As alternatives, you could either install a standalone custom CSS plugin, or create a child theme.

If you need further guidance on this, would it be possible to provide a link to your site? Thanks!

Okay, what about for adding an icon for iTunes?

There’s no Genericons icon for iTunes. You could try another technique, like loading a background image with an iTunes graphic – I haven’t tested but it might work. If you need help with that, please start a new thread and provide a link to your site, along with a link to the iTunes graphic you’d like to use.
