I received emails from a company soliciting my business. They obtained my info by scouring these forums, which means they are using these forums for business solicitation purposes, which I believe violates the policy.

How do I report them without calling them out publicly on these forums?

It does and we almost certainly know who they are. Unfortunately, we can’t really block them from the forums and we trust/hope that those solicited will be appalled at their behavior.

I am pretty sure which banned company did that but to keep it private then please join the WordPress Slack. You’ll need an account to do that and these instructions will guide you for creating that account.

Once there, join the #forums channel where the moderators discuss forum admin things. You don’t have to post the company there as that’s a public channel too but a moderator there may ask you to DM them in Slack the details that you do not want to be made public.

As Steve said, these are public forums and even unscrupulous people can read them so our options are limited to prevent that.
