• Hello,

I reinstalled WordPress. Although everything has returned to its default form, the favicon has not changed.

I went through the theme settings and nothing is set. WordPress mysteriously remembers the favicon (even though it’s not even in the files)

I don’t want to change it, just set it to default. However, I couldn’t find this option anywhere.

    Please help

    Thank you

You can change the site’s icon at Settings > General in your Dashboard.

Keep in mind that browsers cache favicons for a set time that differs amongst all browsers. How to manually clear that cache also differs amongst all browsers.

    Hello,

    Sorry, I described it wrong.

When I install WordPress, the favicon is the WordPress logo.

Clearing the browser cache helped, but instead of returning the original favicon, there is none.

How do I get the wordpress logo back there please?

I probably need to upload the WordPress logo there, but where do I get the photo? It’s not in the file manager and I don’t know which one to use exactly.

    Thank you

There doesn’t appear to be a way to get the original WordPress favicon back without uploading an image of the WordPress logo at Settings > General in your Dashboard as the site icon.

In that case, I’d say it’s a perfect time to set your own. ??

    Hello,

Sorry for the late reply. Of course, I tried downloading the icon from Google, but it’s too dark and I have no idea why.

    What is the problem please?

    Thank you
