• How often do I have to manually clear the s directory and the wp-content/plugins/psn-pagespeed-ninja/ress/cache in order to maintain my extremely fast page speed? After clearing these 2 folders, how to I get PageSpeed.Ninja to redo its compression and other techniques to reboot the fast pages on my site? Do updates of other plugins cause my site to slow down? If so, how do I avoid all of the manual work that should somehow otherwise be automated within PageSpeed.Ninja?

PageSpeed Ninja automatically removes cache files that are not used for 30 days. How many files do you have in the s directory? If there are over 1000 files, most likely some of PageSpeed Ninja’s settings should be adjusted. (Usually there are less than 200 files for “Load external files” option being inactive.)

Updates of WordPress or other plugins may result in slow-down for the first visitor of the site, because of optimized js and css files may be rebuild. But after that website will work as fast as previously.

When I deactivate the “Load external files” option in the “Leverage browser caching” and delete the 2500 files (121M) in the “s” directory, I lose many of my site’s images and all CSS styling for 2-3 hours, and my site speed increases by 25%.

A month ago, my PageSpeed.ninja mobile score was 99 and my desktop speed was 95-97 for https://ouragingparents.net/. Now my mobile score using Google’s PageSpeed Insights for the same page is 69 and my desktop speed is 89. (A month ago, my scores using Google’s PageSpeed Insights were very close to my PageSpeed.ninja scores.) I’ve experimented with several different settings for PageSpeed.ninja, but nothing brings me very close to what I had about a month ago.

Also, when I use Google’s PageSpeed Insights to check one of my internal pages (https://ouragingparents.net/chaos-confidence/) my scores are very low (mobile = 51 and desktop = 83).

What am I doing wrong? What suggestions do you have for improving my scores?

Thanks very much for your advice.
