I upgraded to the lasted version of the plug in and all my events are gone. Before I did the upgrade, I did a back up so I have that. I followed the instructions of deleting the uninstall.php file before I deleted the plug in from the dashboard. I have about 2 years worth of calendar information need to get back. What are the files/directories I need to restore from the back up so I get all my data back? I was going to upload the files/directories via FTP.

  • Hi,

If you previously backed up database, you should upload wp_term_relationships, wp_term_taxonomy, wp_terms(Categories and Tags) and wp_posts table, wp_posts, wp_ai1ec_events and wp_ai1ec_event_instances tables.

Thank you for your reply. I am sorry, I am not very savvy when it comes to databases and such and do not have any background in programming, working with command lines, etc. Is there a way (or more like easy way) to selectively chose the tables you mentioned? According to Restoring Your Database From Backup Using phpMyAdmin, it looks like you have to do the enter database.

Yes, it is necessary to enter the database and export only the above tables. Then you need to import that same tables in an existing database where the new version is installed. For all this you need phpMyAdmin or similar. It would be best to hire someone who knows how to manage databases.

Yeah, that looks like what I’ll have to do. Thanks so much for your help.

No problem, glad I could help ??

It’s just frustrating because I followed the steps to upgrade the plug in and it still broke. Ugh! Gotta love computers. =O)

I understand, but it’s hard to know what happened.
