    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the kind words. ??

You can restrict category posting to leaf categories if you’re using Enhanced Categories. The setting is under Directory Admin->Manage Options, Listings under “Main Directory Behavior”, check “Only allow listings in child (leaf) categories”

Great, I found that and I clicked the box for posting to only leaf categories, but now it won’t let me get to the sub categories.

    LIKE

    Alabama
    –Birmingham

When I select Alabama, then the screen refreshes and asks me again and only give me a choice as the first page (states).

Won’t let me access towns once I click ALABAMA

How many levels of categories are you using here?

    Can you post a screenshot?

    Here are a few screenshots

Also, I have a TON of subcategories. I used all the same states and areas that craigslist uses. Is it too much for the database maybe?

    Thanks

Hmmm. What version of Enhanced Categories are you running here, Chris? That definitely seems off.

    Hi Chris,

OK, we tested this with a deeper hierarchy than 2 and we’re not able to make this happen. We have a working theory–that perhaps your theme is replacing the <select> elements in your HTML with some custom control that is breaking the AJAX behavior for BD.

Can you try this test? Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with Business Directory, which may help pinpoint the issue: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/

Report back on what you find. I have a suspicion we’ll find that it works with a default theme and with other plugins inactive. The question is, where is the behavior added from…?

You guys are awesome. It was a theme issue. I updated my theme and it works perfectly now, thanks again for your time.

    Glad it’s working!
