I’m using the Page Centred template and want to restrict the width that my text can appear across, ie, increase the left and right margins.

I know I could do this using columns and keep the first and last empty, but I’m sure there’s a better way by CSS coding in the child-theme.

I can see reference to padding , margin and border for top and bottom, but nothing for left or right.

    What am I missing?

I’m sure this is something that’s so basic I can’t see the obvious solution so, any suggestions gratefully accepted guys. Thanks

Just to say, I’ve looked through the 12 pages on here and can’t see an answer to this or a similar question. Apologies if I’ve missed it.

    Hi There,

We are really sorry to inform you that we are little confused about your issue, so could you please explain your issue with screenshots, so that it will be easy to both of us to find the solution asap.

    Some question we want to ask to you are given below We hope you will reply soon;
    1. Do you want to keep your text center as you select the page centered template?
    2. Do you want to keep the full width content?

NOTE: Please mention the link of your site also.

We look forward to your respond.

    Thanks

    Hi, thx yr reply.

Sorry for the perhaps too imprecise question but can’t provide a screen shot as am building website on localhost at present.

What I was trying to was to do something similar to increasing the width of the left and right margins or to increase the left and right indentation for a paragraph in a word document so as to force a line of text to break onto the line below.

Re your 2 questions; I want to use page centred throughout and am using full width content as there won’t be any widgets to either side.

I don’t know if that clarifies further my question – apologies again if I’m still being unclear.

Hi, as a workaround I’ve used Easy Columns to set one part of the page as 1/5, 3/5, 1/5 and then put my text in the centre 3/5 column only.

It’s provided the result I wanted so that seems good to go.

Thought I’d post it here to help others who might be looking in due course.
