    Hello,

I am quite new to Sucuri Security, and I am not sure what I did upon security setting.

For some plugins, it ask write permission, like Loco Translate(https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/loco-translate/), otherwise, it can not create language template and PO file.

I just suppose there are some security protection of plugin directory, , right? Would you please let me know how change back to default setting and remove the Sucuri Security security setting please?

    Thanks

    Hello @alexlii,

Go to “Sucuri Security > Settings”, then scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, you’ll find a panel called “Reset Security Logs, Hardening and Settings”. Click the button, and the plugin will remove all the things that you’ve activated.

In the first screenshot you posted, the one that says “Connection Information”, has nothing to do with the Sucuri WordPress plugin. That’s just WordPress asking you for FTP/FTPS access to the server to execute some administrative tasks.

You don’t have to click anything in the “Hardening” page, if you click the “Reset Security Logs, Hardening and Settings” button everything will be reverted to its default state.

Marking as resolved, let me know if you need more information.

    Hello @yamman,

Thanks for your info, and this seems really a big trouble for us.

it seems that Sucuri Security changed the default permissions of wordpress files/folders, these will make lots of thing does not work, for example:

1# some themes need write dynamic.cc into upload folder
2# some plugins need upload and update the content, like this plugin:https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/tumult-hype-animations/
Actually, I just support there will be same issue with other post plugins.
3# Loco translate need write permission to update translation into po/mo files(Although, I am make loco translate with alternative way by SSH ftp with this plugin:https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/ssh-sftp-updater-support/ )

Change the permissions/ will always make these themes and plugins does not work.

I tried to reset, but the same issue, please check the screenshot:

    https://prntscr.com/net5wm

Here are what I did on the above screenshot:

    1# I deleted API Key
    2# and reset it.

But this permission issue seems not be fixed after “Reset Security Logs, Hardening and Settings” /strong>.

Here are some information about our server,

    Plugin version 1.8.20
    Last filesystem scan Unknown
