How to save local docs so I can link to them in a list on my blog

I just started my first blog with WordPress. On my hard drive I have several documents that I want to put on a page in my blog as a list of links to the actual documents. I know I can’t link to the documents on my hard drive, but I’m not sure what to do with the documents to make them “linkable” for my blog, or where to save them. Thank you for your help.
