    Hi there,
I am an Astra Pro user so I use this plugin as well, it is great.

I want to bring you attention to a few things that need fixing in the How-To schema block:

1 – The backend editor always shows some fields missing, in a notice, even when those fields are filled.

2 – It is impossible to remove the Minutes attribute, even when I push reset. It will always have 30 minutes there (so for example, if I just want “2 days”, it will say “2 days 30 minutes”

3 – In the backend -> total cost field, it adds “30” for some reason. This isn’t displayed on the front-end though.

4 – When I set a step image to “below title”, the text of the step is automatically centered. It would be great if this could be left-aligned as an option. I can override this via CSS, but still.

5 – As far as I know, Schema accepts a video for the How-to section image. Please make this possible.

    Thanks!
    Tom

I found 2 more errors, you can see them using the schema rich results test of the page here:
    https://search.google.com/test/rich-results?utm_campaign=sdtt&utm_medium=url&id=IDG0P_XEOauGF6FwCQbtDQ

6 – The value field is missing. The actual amount is incorrectly added to the currency field, when it should be in its own value field.

7 – Each How-to step would require a URL anchor pointing to the title of the given step. This should be produced automatically.

    Hello @theguitarlesson ,

Below are the answers to your queries:

1] It seems that you talking about this. It is due to the Step Call to action link set to empty or #. Could you please check if you have added a proper link to Step CTA? Let me know if I’m missing anything.

2] Unfortunately, for now, it is not possible to hide/ remove the Minutes attribute. I’ll discuss this further with the developer team and if feasible we will surely improve this scenario in our future update.

3] I’m not sure I fully understand this question. Could you please share some screenshots or videos?

It’s showing proper value in backend and frontend.

4] For this step we are using Info-box block as a child. So it is the default behavior of the info-box. But we have a task to add our own HowTo-child instead of Info-box. For now, you can manage this using custom CSS.

5] I have added a task of video support in the HowTo block in our to-do list. We will surely improve this scenario in our future update.

6] I have checked the same at my end. It shows the correct value for the estimated cost. See here. Could you please check is there any plugin conflict?

7] Right, it is not produced automatically for now. You need to add it manually. We are adding the URL to step from Call To Action > Complete box. So it can be applying to the overall step.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any further queries.

    Hi, thanks for your reply:

    1. The notice was for the Estimated Cost field. I got it to work now:
    https://pumpupboats.com/inflatable-boat-attachments/

The confusion was because the “currency” and the “value” fields are hard to fill out separately in the WP Editor. They are just next to each other in the editor, and it is not apparent how and what has to be filled out. Maybe you could make that more intuitive, marking the separate fields clearly.

    2. Thanks!

    3. This problem is the same as #1 above. To recreate the problem, just add a new How-to block, and delete the default 65 USD in the total cost.

You’ll see that once deleted, it is not so simple to know where to write the value and the currency.

    4. Ok, thanks.

    5. Thanks!

    6. Again, this is because of the confusion described above in #1 and #3.

    7. Given that the Step URL is a required filed for How-To Schema, I think it should be automatic, without even having to choose “Complete Box”. Any user behavior here will just result in bad schema.

    Thanks!
    Tom

    Hello @theguitarlesson ,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

I have added an improvement task of Estimated cost ( value, currency ) and step URL should be automatic for How-To block in our to-do list. I’ll discuss this further with the developer and if feasible we will surely improve this scenario in a future update.

Please let me know if you need any help from us.
