how to sell digital materials using WC from a non WP site

    Hi there,

    Just wanted to know how to automate selling digital assets by ordering thru a form in a site, and the assets are stored in a secure independent non WP site or database like microsoft.asp or the like, and the order is finalized by woocommerce. Its hard to input all the docs one by one thru woocommerce as it has been indexed and stored already in another server. Just wanted to know if there is a bridge that can use WC as the facilitator in selling the assets that it can pull from a seprate secure server, WP or not. Could you please let me know my simplest options to explore please and how to go about it? Are there even plugins for that? Ideally the assets are requested by typing in an ID, and can be ordered by filling in the form, but the assets are not displayed in the order window, and are stored and pulled from an external server. Am not sure if im explaining it right. I need woocommerce to middleman and gate these assets from another server / site.

    Hi @mercury168,

    In order to use WooCommerce, you MUST be running a WordPress site and the products (or some representation of them) MUST be available on said WooCommerce site.

    If you want to provide access to materials on an external site after the order has been processed, you’ll need to build something custom by taking advantage of the WooCommerce REST API.

    Luminous thank you for this lead. I will check it out. What do you call developers who specialize on rest api integrations?
