How to send membership cancel email to user

Hi, the answer to your first question is. Did you enable Allow Account Deletion found under Settings -> General Settings?

In regards to your second question, what kind of e-mail do you want to send?

Thanks for the quick response.

1) I don’t want user to delete their account. I mean they can cancel their current subscription and still they can login in future for renew or re-purchase any subscription.

2) So when user cancel their current subscription, i want system sends automated email to them with their name. Something like “It feels bad when our important users leave us. Please send your feedback on our website and pros / cons ( Totally marketing mail to ensure they join back ?? ). I see there is a welcome email, account upgrade / downgrade email setting but i cant see any setting regards to cancel membership subscription.

I think i tried most possible way to give understanding of matter. let me know if you need anything else on it.

Can you just add do_action where user can cancel their subscription. So i can code email sending function at theme level. Or Guide me how i can achieve this. I have just 2 things remains in my project and for that i don’t want to change everything in project.

Hi at present the only way you can send an e-mail to a member who has deleted the account is if you have made a note of all your registered members.

2) Link you have sent is no where near to what i have asked for.

Let me know if i click on delete my account button on profile page, which function from which file runs from plugin. I will code there from my side.

I think you are not understanding of sending email when use cancel or delete membership. Its too simple to understand what i asked. Also its basic requirement of any membership plugin cause whenever anyone cancel membership, it supposed to send them email to confirm cancellation or delete account. Its a cross check functionality for security check than no one else has press delete button or cancel account.

A member can cancel the subscription from their PayPal account. Or if they contact your (the site admin), you can cancel a subscription from your PayPal account.

When a subscription is cancelled (from PayPal), the plugin deactivates the membership account. PayPal sends them a cancellation confirmation email.

so if someone cancel membership from paypal, its going to notify simple membership for same. Right ? it is happening.

Can you just add action or hook after that notification in membership plugin. So i will code action for mail which fires at that time.

I think there is not much work in it if paypal sends membership plugin notification of it with that notify url stuff.
