    Hi,

I’m running a Japanese website where URLs contain Japanese characters. Currently, Yoast SEO generates canonical tags with non-encoded Japanese characters (e.g., https://example.com/ベトジェットエア).

According to RFC 3986, percent-encoded URLs should use uppercase hexadecimal digits. How can I make Yoast SEO output canonical URLs with uppercase percent-encoding (e.g., https://example.com/%E3%83%99%E3%83%88…) instead of non-encoded characters?

I tried using the ‘wpseo_canonical’ filter but couldn’t get it to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
