How to set max image resolution in wordpress?

  • Hello,

    I want to set maximum image resolution to 1200px width and height (auto) in my wordpress self hosted blog, i want every new uploaded image that is larger than this resolution to be automatically resized to 1200px wide and this resized image must replace the original image to save server space.

    How can i do this? please help.
