Does anyone know how to make a shipping rule so that if a customer buys (for example) 25 gallons, then instead of the shipping rate calculating the weight of the 25 gallons it calculates instead 5 x 5 gallons.

The weight for the 25 gal product is 200 lbs which is over UPS and USPS max weights, so my only option right now is to offer local pickup.

I want to know if there’s a way to charge the customer 5 x 5 gal (40 lbs each) instead. In which case, I would ship five 5gal buckets.?I just need to tell the rate calculator that this sku is actually 5 times another sku.

I’m currently using WooCommerce Shipping & Tax and ShipStation Shipping PRO for WooCommerce for rates.

    Hello @naturalwholesale,

If I understand this correctly, you want to calculate the shipping rate per quantity in the cart.

You can achieve this with a custom shipping class for each product. For example, I have a $5 flat shipping rate to the UK, but for products using my X class, the shipping will be calculated as quantity * $5.

    Hi Saif,

Not exactly. I’m not looking to charge a flat rate per quantity. See my website here: https://naturalwholesale.com/product/premium-paraben-free-lotion-base/

The “25 Gallon” variation is too heavy (200 lbs) to get a shipping rate, so I’d like to change the “25 Gallon” variation from 200 lbs to 5 x “5 Gallon Bucket.” Each “5 Gallon Bucket” is 40 lbs so I can get a shipping rate for it. I just want the shipping rate to be 5 times this 40 lb rate so I can ship the “25 Gallon” as 5 x 5 Gallon Buckets.

I hope this makes sense. Thanks

    Hi,

I understand you would like to split the shipping order. To me, that sounds like to split a shipping plan into smaller batches, each batch with a separated shipping tracking. This is interesting. There are workarounds and premium extensions that might help you ??

I recommend you to start here: How to Split Cart Items in the Same Order on WooCommerce.

Also, please taker a look at the following premium extensions:

    • Split Orders?extension, it is able to help you to ship part of a customer’s order separately.?You can select the quantity of each item to be split to a new order, assigned to the same customer, using the same shipping and billing addresses.
    • WooCommerce Advanced Shipping Packages, this extension will give you the option to split a cart into multiple shipping packages.

These extensions offer a full refund if they do not fit your needs after 30 days. You can read more about our refund policy on our website here: https://woocommerce.com/refund-policy/

If you have any pre-sales questions about how to make them to work according to your needs, feel free to ask here:

I hope this information is helpful to you.

Thanks for your suggestions. I looked into them both, but I don’t think they will do what I need, unfortunately. At the end of the day, all I want to do is charge the customer the shipping rate the same that I will pay. It’s just that it seems it can’t be set up that way.

My only alternative is to offer free shipping on the higher-weighted products, or find a plugin that calculates freight and then try to add a rule when the weight is over a certain amount. Can you suggest a freight plugin?

    Hi @naturalwholesale

You can also check the premium plugin Table Rate Shipping which defines multiple shipping rates based on location, price, weight, or item count. Wildcards may be used to match multiple regions too.

You can test the plugin here: https://woocommerce.com/products/table-rate-shipping/

Did you know that if you want to try our products, it comes with a 30-day refund policy? If the product doesn’t work the way you need it or you think another product would work better, we are more than happy to offer a full refund. You can read more about our refund policy on our website here.

    Hope this helps!
