How to set up user-to-user chat & test?

  • Hi, I’m having trouble figuring out how to implement your plugin. It says there’s a way to do have peer-to-peer communication but when testing all I can see is my own username, even when in I’m logged in as a different user in an incognito window or different browser. TalkJS never recognizes me as a differently-logged-in WordPress user.

    What am I missing? Thanks!

    Hi @mmcginnis, thanks for reaching out.

    My guess would be that the product or listing pages were made by the same account (you) and therefore you’re initiating a chat with that user (you) every time. You’re seeing the username of the person you’re chatting with (you/admin). Does that make sense?

    Ah, that makes sense, thanks! I was going to the Author’s page (https://site.com/author/author_name/, wanting to chat with that person. It’s not really a published Page, per se. I’ll ping y’all over on chat to see what I can do to set this up.
