How to setup a NICE custom events page

Hey everyone,

I want to create a custom events page.
I’ve found this code

[gd_search post_type="gd_event"][gd_listings post_type="gd_event" post_limit="5" add_location_filter="1" sort_by="latest" title_tag="h3" layout="4" view_all_link="1" bottom_pagination="1" category="0"]

I am aware that there are 4 layout types, but they are all about the number of the columns. 1 column looks awful IMHO. Meanwhile on the static events page, which I cannot customize, the events itself look much better. Is there a way to get the standard look on a custom page?
