how to setup invoice in woocommerce and how to save downloadble link
-
I am new to woocommerce. I wish to sell downloadable products. I am wondering how to setup an invoice in woocommerce and how to save a downloadable link after it is purchase by customers. I mean it is possible that customers can share a downloadable link with someone else? if yes, then how to protect this?

Hi there,
You can easily create a downloadable product marking the “Downloadable” option in the product settings. This will make you able to link any wanted downloadable files to your product.
Once a customer purchases these products, WooCommerce grants permission to these files for that customer.
WooCommerce also masks the URL of the download links that are sent to the customer to prevent them from sharing the real URL of the file with other customers.
Please check this page to learn more about this: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/digital-downloadable-product-handling/
Also, if the “force download” option isn’t working, make sure that you configure your server to prevent it from rendering readable files like txt or pdf’s on the browser window instead of downloading them, as this would reveal the file URL.
I hope it helps!
If I click virtual along with download then still WordPress will send receipts to customers?
I am just confused about receipt…who will send a receipt to customers?Hi there,
By default, when customers purchase any kind of producthttps://woocommerce.com/products/pdf-invoices/, WooCommerce sends an email notification to them with the order details (receipt). This happens even if the products are marked as virtual and downloadable.
WooCommerce doesn’t send invoiced by default, but you can do it manually by running the “Email invoice / order details to customer” action from the order actions dropdown selector (in the order editor page). This action will send a similar email notification to the customer but with an invoice instead of the order details.
As I said in my previous message, if you need something more advanced or you want to send PDF invoices to your customers automatically, you could use a plugin like: https://woocommerce.com/products/pdf-invoices/
In any case, please mind that the download link that is included in these emails doesn’t show the full URL of the downloadable file, as it is using a download page with a security code to validate and generate the downloads.
check out this screenshot….
is it necessary to click on “download require login” or should I leave it blank?
i am confused what to choose. i don’t understand.
i sell downloadable products on my e-commerce website.

I will be selling downloadable product.
so in shipping what should I choose?https://imgur.com/undefined

what is Payment Authentication Requested Email?
and how to replace the [email protected] email from the desired email ID permanently?I don’t understand why does WordPress automatically choose [email protected] email ID. this id doesn’t exist.
check screenshot.
why is Customer invoice / Order details not marked?
is it automatically? or do I need to correct it?is it necessary to click on “download require login” or should I leave it blank?
This is an optional feature that you can enable if you want to require your customers to log in, in order to be able to download these files. If you don’t check this option, the customers will be able to download the files after purchasing them without the need of logging in to your site.
I will be selling downloadable product. so in shipping what should I choose?
If you only sell downloadable products that don’t require any shipment, I’d suggest you to edit your products and set them to “Downloadale” and “Virtual”. This way, they won’t require any shipping (and you don’t need to enable any shipping methods in WooCommerce>Settings>Shipping).
what is Payment Authentication Requested Email?
and how to replace the [email protected] email from the desired email ID permanently? This email notification is sent to a customer when a renewal fails because the transaction requires an SCA verification. The email contains renewal order information and payment links.
In your screenshot I see that the admin notifications are being sent to [email protected]. If you want to send them to a different address, you just have to click on each of these admin notifications in this page and change the email address in its settings (in the “Recipient(s)” field).
By default, this is the administration email address that is added in Settings>General.
why is Customer invoice / Order details not marked?
is it automatically? or do I need to correct it?The “Customer invoice / Order details” is marked different in this page because it is a manual email notification that is only sent to the customers when you request this action from the orders actions selector (in the order editor page).
This is the expected behavior and there’s no way by default to automate it (unless you use a plugin like the one I mentioned before).
We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
Hi, how to display separate category of product (woocommerce) on home page?
I’ve used one of the woocommerce shortcodes but it doesn’t display specific category product?
https://barn2.co.uk/woocommerce-shortcodes/#:~:text=Displays%20an%20’Add%20To%20Cart,(such%20as%20the%20sidebar).Hi there,
If you want to display products from different categories on a page, you’ll need to use the [products] specifying the wanted category in the “category” parameter.
Here you can read more about this: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shortcodes/#section-10

If you want to disable this button, you just have to go to the Stripe settings (WooCommerce>Settings>Payments>Stripe) and disable the “Payment Request Buttons” option there.
