How to show a post summary in home page

use the_excerpt() instead of the_content()

Thanks alot i have successfully done that however i am unable to do it when some particular catagory is selected. I want it also be the same way

Hey guys. Still got problem in creating a sumamry for my postings. It still showed a full posting instead. Can someone please help?

I tried the the_excerpt() method. It worked fine on mine.
