How to show different title in wordpress homepage?

I would like to show different title of a post to be displayed on homepage of my blog. I have tried to modify get_the_title in index.php and single.php but I think I’m not getting that result. Please help me out. I’m using SociallyViral Theme.
For example you can see https://moviescounter.com/, post titles of this website’s homepage are bit different from single posts, and thanks in advance!
