How to show excerpts in Button 2 theme

    I’m using the Button 2 theme and I’m wanting to make it so that only excerpts are on the homepage and archive/category pages instead of the full posts. I know the little excerpt code and I tried to insert it where I thought it should go, but it caused an error so I removed it. Anyone have any insights?

  • I just installed Button (didn’t find any Button 2 theme btw) theme in my localhost. Posts in both homepage and category pages are coming up with excerpts only.

    Do you have other plugins installed? If so, please deactivate all of them and see if get your desired output. If yes, go on activating one plugin at a time and keep looking at the pages. You will find the plugin responsible for this.

    From my understanding, Burton by default shows excerpts but Button 2 does not. None of my plugins involve my posts and wouldn’t be causing this issue.

    Button 2 has also the options to choose between full post or excerpt, look in customizer.
