How to show few posts on homepage?

  • My homepage is 2 miles long. I post every day, and every single post shows on my homepage. I want to only show for example 5 posts, and have a link to the other ones. How do I do it? I tried with the options-reading section in the admin panel and selected Show at most: 5 posts but that didn’t do any difference.

    Any help?
