How to show tax info?
-
Hi,
in the product page I see only the price now. How can I show the tax info too? Customers have to see immediately, does the price include tax or not. Did not find this with search. I have set the product page tax to 0% and the tax is added in the shopping cart.
Thanks.

Hi,
If I understand it right, you’re selling in Europe and you need to set up VAT according to your country and general EU law. Is that right?
If so, I’d recommend enabling the automatic taxes tool in Ecwid store settings — this way, Ecwid will apply proper VAT rate and display them right when it’s required by the law. Including the product pages.
If you don’t use the automatic tax setup and prefer manual tax rates tables, you will need to enable the “Include tax in product prices” option in the tax settings (Store Dashboard -> Settings -> Taxes) to make sure VAT is included in the product prices.

Thanks, I have done that (please read my original post). The problem is that in the product page I see only the price, not any info does it include the VAT or not. The info text about VAT (VAT is added) does only show up when the customer have added the product to shopping cart.
So I need the price + the info text of VAT, like “690€ (without VAT)” or “690€ (VAT 0%)”.
Now I only have “690€” and nothing else.
Meaning: I want to show the VAT INFO, NOT include the VAT in the price until shopping cart.
Hi,
Normally, if the tax is set to be included in product prices, Ecwid shows the note that tax is added.
“VAT” in that note is the name of the applied tax as it’s set in your Ecwid Control Panel:
So, if you need to show the percentage applied there too, you can name the tax accordingly, e.g.:
And it will show up on product details pages:
If you can’t get this note to show up for any reason, though, please send us the link to your website with the Ecwid store where we can check this out.
Just in case: in the original post you mentioned that you set tax to 0%. Perhaps you should try setting it to any value that actually modifies the price?
I am having an issue getting the taxes to show up when it shows up in the cart. I have followed a few threads and now I seem to be more confused then ever. HELP
Hi there,
Ecwid support team here. I’ll be happy to clarify this situation for you.
First of all, there are two ways to calculate taxes in Ecwid: automatic and manual. You can set up the taxes in Ecwid Control Panel -> Settings -> Taxes. You must configure one of them for taxes rates to show up.
If it’s already done, there are still reasons for the taxes not showing up in the cart.
1) If you are using an automatic tax calculation, then the tax rate shows up only after a customer fills out his address. As automatic tax rate is calculated based on the store and customer locations, it’s calculated only when a customer enters the location details. The tax rate doesn’t show up until it happens.
You can find more detailed information here: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/articles/207099899-Taxes#Howtosetupautotax
2) If you are using manual tax calculation, then make sure that the tax rate is enabled for a product added to the cart. If the tax calculation is disabled for this product — then the tax rate doesn’t show up in the cart. You can easily check it by going to Ecwid Control Panel -> Catalog -> Products -> Select a product -> Tax and shipping tab -> Scroll Down to the Taxes menu: https://take.ms/sPbyo
If none of these helps, please send us your StoreID using this form: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/requests/new We’ll inspect your store settings and send you an email with more detailed explanations based on your store settings.

Hi @rubysigncut,
Can you provide a link to your store?

Hey @zoonini,
Thank you. For whatever reason, the posts we submitted today didn’t show up so we tried different browsers and accounts. Hence so many replies.
