I was wondering if there is a way for Woo to:

For an item that has an inventory of 0, when the customer clicks to add it to the cart, take some action to indicate to them that it’s not in stock, but can be made, etc

    thoughts?
currently, all I know to do is manually set the quantity to 0, and write something on the items title(kinda lame)

    thanks,
    Rich

  • You can go to the Product Data section, Inventory tab and set the “backorders” drop-down to “allow but notify the customer”. This gives a message above the add-to-cart: “Available on back-order”. If required, this message text can be changed with the “Say What?” plugin.
