how to show theme to ask for comments

  • Hi.

    Well, first of all i would like to make a little intro. this is my first post here so…
    i come from germany and i’m trying to create my first wordpress theme. I’m not doing it for someone in particular, i am doing it to try to learn a bit more about wordpress and see how things work.
    It has been a lot of fun, some headaches and i think i’ve learn some cool new stuff, so i’m actually quite happy with this experience.

    Now my theme is getting to a point where i would like to have some feedback from other people with more experience. i don’t think it is ready, but input from other designers would be great to get the theme to a good level.

    I have been developing it locally using MAMP, but i would like to get it online to show it to other people. I know there are a lot of forums and sites talking about free hosting solutions, but i think most of them are full of spam and it’s hard for someone like me (who doesn’t know anything about hosting services) to choose something decent.
    I’m not looking for anything with lots of bells and whistles. I am looking for something free, and simple and where i can upload my theme so people can take a look at it.

    How do you show your themes to other people (maybe to clients, or to other designers or even to the people here in the forum when you have a question)?

    What would be the best way to show a theme?

    I would be very grateful for any suggestions or ideas you may have.

    There are several places I can think of: sourceforge, github, bitbucket or even on the WordPress theme repo to share with many people. Do keep in mind that if you are wanting to submit the theme to the repo it does have to meet the guidelines. ??

    yes, i have been trying to follow the guide lines. i have the “test content” and it looks like it is working ok.

    hmmm, i didn’t know we could have a wordpress working on github. I will give it a look. Thanks! =)
