You could use the ::before or the ::after css selectors perhaps. You’ll have to figure out the css for the right combination of descendent selectors to target the div where the ajax loads. Might be kind of difficult.
Or, I believe there is a span with a class of “et-icon” that wraps or is a parent of the file title link (the link you click to download). I don’t know if you can get it to display the way you want though. Or directly modify the plugin to give it a classname you could target.
Or pay the $10 support fee to the M&S Consulting guys (the plugin author) and ask them for help.
