  • You could always upload your YouTube thumbnail to your website, then under the Social options in SEO for the post, select your thumbnail. This will show it for your post. For more info on how to obtain your YouTube thumbnail: click here.

Note: If you have already tried to link your current post, Facebook may have a cache stored in their database. Meaning unless the URL changes, it may not pick up any future changes.

Thanks for answer. The thing is that the blog im creating is made for non-advanced users and i want to make it really simple for them. So as far it solves the problem, uploading Youtube thumbnail manually is far from the perfect solution.

Ps. Facebook cache isn’t a problem since i can test the links in facebook debugging tool.

I’ve managed to achieve video thumbnails by using “Video Thumbnails” plugin, where it sets featured image from video. It takes a quite big screenshots, but unfortunetly when i post it on youtube, the thumbnail is really really small, like 112×64 px.

Anyone has idea how to change it?

YouTube automatically creates thumbnails at these resolutions. Unfortunately there isn’t any other images created nor stored on YouTube’s servers.
