• I have an older, non-updated WP.org blog site that was set up for me by someone else. Earlier this year, I realized that I could use WP.com for the purposes I need, and didn’t have to worry about knowing how to use WP.org.

So, I created a new site, but had difficulty transferring my blogs to my new site, so I kept the site open and kept paying my hosting fees until I could figure it out.

Months go by, I forgot why I was still paying the hosting fees, remember I still needed to import my archives, etc. So I import the archives without problem, thinking I could finally stop paying my hosting fees.

I cancelled my hosting account last night, only to discover on a forum post on this site that I need to access the server via FTP to delete my website files before deleting the site. My hosting website doesn’t seem to know how they can help me – can you guys help me?

Is there a way to just pull the plug on a site??

  • if you cancelled your hosting account, they will get rid of everything

Thank you. My host is now telling me that the cancellation hasn’t been fully processed for whatever reason, which explains why I can still access the website, I guess.

I am trying to figure out how to get back in and delete my files, but I will ask again if something goes wrong. ??
